Terrible cave trolls, tree beasts from the Faraway Lands, even the wizard-thing of the north —Dregg of the House of Brute has defeated them all and become legend of Thisearth! But none of his triumphant exploits have dampened the screams of a lifetime of combat that haunt him.
 
Beaten and withered, he has chosen to live out a life of quiet solitude, until one day. Now, he must set out for one final charge against an evil force that has terrified the south nation of Izzic. But unbeknownst to him, a past enemy once defeated, has returned to terrorize the world of Thisearth.
 
It is up to Dregg and his stalwart travel companion named Imple to venture into the terrifying swamp and pluck victory once again from the clutches of defeat. But first, he must search into his bruised soul and find the courage he once possessed… for the only person on Thisearth that can stop the rising evil, is the legend of old.
